Job description

Adaptive responses to uncertainty are essential to our survival and well-being and can be narrowed down to two fundamental behavioural choices, namely, approach or avoidance. Diverse neuromodulatory forces, for example locus-coeruleus derived norepinephrine as well as peptidergic inputs to the region, coordinate the physiological and neurocognitive processes required for approach-avoidance behaviour. In this project, we aim to outline the functional peptidergic landscape of the locus coeruleus, providing novel insights into the endogenous systems that drive adaptive responses under approach-avoidance conflicts.

As a post-doctoral researcher you will be involved in setting up and conducting the research. Your main duties and responsibilities include:
  • Research implementation, data acquisition and analysis.
  • Writing & publishing scientific articles based on the results of your research;
  • Strengthen current (inter)national collaborations;
  • Actively seeking follow-up funding opportunities;
  • Supervising students and teaching duties.

  • Hands-on experience with methods listed above.
  • A strong motivation to pursue a career in science.
