Program maker

As program maker dilemma dialogues, you will contribute to inspiring programming to bring science and society together by discussing major dilemmas around agriculture, food and nature of our time. We bring parties together to inspire, motivate, enrich and encourage them to take steps together in the complex transitions of our time. Location is Wageningen Campus, but meetings can also take place elsewhere in the country depending on the target group.

Responsibilities within team Knowledge for Society
As program maker, you will organize and partly facilitate these dilemma dialogues together with the Wageningen Dialogues team. Together with the initiators of strategic research programs, you will translate societal challenges in the WUR domains into topical dilemmas. You are in contact with researchers who provide insight into the effects, opportunities and trade-offs for the selected challenges. You know how to reach the right target groups with catchy communication, from scientists to policymakers, from farmers to citizens, from companies to action groups. You will shape the dialogues with knowledge of interactive programs and dialogue principles. You will facilitate part of the meetings yourself and possibly know how to translate the insights from the conversations into appealing communication.

Your tasks and responsibilities as programme maker dilemma dialogues are:

• Co-determining current programming;
• Reaching and addressing target groups
• Designing dialogue sessions with dialogic working forms and principles;
• Organization of meetings;
• Facilitating meetings, monitoring quality and atmosphere.

Dialogues are also organized in the evenings and sometimes weekends. A flexible commitment is required.

Your team
You will work within the Co-creating Value and Impact (CVI) department and strengthen the Wageningen Dialogues team. As a staff department, we support the organization in achieving its strategic goals and are in contact with many employees within WUR. Of course, we also work a lot with communication colleagues, event planners, strategic programme leaders, and researchers from different disciplines.

You share our ambition to make complex issues discussable through inspiring meetings. You understand the complexity of 21st century challenges, have an affinity with the WUR domains, and quickly switch between different topics. You have experience in organising stakeholder meetings and work in an organised way. You can interact with stakeholders from different levels, are familiar with the dynamics that can arise when there are different interests and values, and know how to shape and moderate such meetings in an engaging way - with an eye for the differences. You are open to switching between different roles - from doing desk research and sending out invitations to conducting interviews with directors. You have strong communication skills in Dutch and English. You also have affinity and experience with facilitating meetings yourself.

You possess:

• Background in or demonstrable affinity with WUR domains;
• Work experience in communication and event management;
• Proven experience in facilitating, moderating and summarizing (group) discussions between parties with conflicting interests in English and Dutch;
• Academic level of thinking;
• Ability to communicate well with representatives of certain groups. Think citizens, large companies, governments, NGOs and scientists;
• Flexibility in terms of working hours and locations.

In our international working environment, communication is increasingly in English. For this position, this involves language level C2 for Dutch and B2 for English.

Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive salary of a minimum of € 3.316,- to a maximum of € 4.734,- for a full working week of 36 hours in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Wageningen Research (scale 9). In addition, an appointment of at least 24 hours is negotiable.

When it comes to your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract with the intention of extending it for the duration of the project (within the economic circumstances). Of course we are happy to talk to you if you have any questions about this.
