Are you passionate about networking, sales, and relationship management? Do you want to help RSM BSc and MSc students kick-start their careers by connecting them with potential employers? Are you looking for a dynamic role that bridges university life and professional careers? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
The RSM Career Centre is seeking a dedicated professional for a permanent position, starting with a one-year contract, to join our BSc/MSc team as soon as possible.
Job description As an Employer Relations Manager within the Career Centre, you will serve as the key link between students and a wide range of organisations—including corporations, SMEs, start-ups, and NGOs—that are looking to recruit RSM students and graduates. Your primary responsibilities will include acquiring, maintaining, and strengthening long-term relationships with potential employers to enhance student career opportunities. No two days will be the same in this diverse role.
Additionally, you will take on the role of Corporate Relations Manager for the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS). CEMS is a global alliance of leading business schools, multinational companies, and NGOs that collectively offer the CEMS Master in International Management, which is also taught at the Rotterdam School of Management. This aspect of the role will account for at least 25% of your responsibilities.
Internally, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including Programme Management and the Alumni Relations team. Within the Career Centre, you will work alongside the Career Development Manager, Office Manager, and a Student Assistant to support our students effectively
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and managing relationships with employers.
- Organising events and coordinating activities with employers, including job fairs and online networking sessions.
- Leading the acquisition of internships, job placements, and consultancy projects.
- Managing key stakeholders, including faculty, employers, and students.
- Proactively contributing new ideas and suggestions to improve engagement and services.
- Handling short-term tasks, such as responding to emails and calls, promoting events, conducting company visits, drafting agreements, and maintaining acquisition spreadsheets and the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Overseeing long-term projects, such as planning consultancy project acquisitions and career fairs, while also having the creative freedom to implement new initiatives.
- Managing the CEMS Corporate Relations for RSM, liaising with internal and external CEMS stakeholders, as well as the CEMS Global Office.
You will be part of a close-knit, dynamic team on a vibrant university campus. While you can work independently, you thrive in a collaborative environment where open feedback and a good sense of humour are valued. You enjoy public speaking, networking, event organisation, and administrative tasks (such as email correspondence).
