To make this “twin transition” a success, a plethora of legal and regulatory challenges must be addressed, ranging from the relationship between the state and citizens in facilitating the energy transition, new rules for energy sharing among businesses and citizens in smart energy hubs, to the implementation of practical tools in legislative processes, like designing “green & digital” regulatory impact assessments or regulatory eco-systems that set high green standards as well as allow for digital innovation. The selected candidate is expected to connect the legal regimes of administrative law and technology regulation through a focus on energy and related climate issues.
