Job description

What will you be doing?
As a Data Service Manager, you will represent DANS within the Dutch research institutions landscape. You will be the face of our DataverseNL service, maintain the broad network of users, and actively seek new clients. You will monitor developments in institutional data services and identify potential collaborations.

Your focus will be on services that support cross-domain needs, such as DataverseNL and potentially other services. To this end, you will gather knowledge, participate in innovative projects, advise institutions on suitable data management solutions, and oversee the implementation of DataverseNL up to the contract phase. Within DANS, you will encourage the further development of DataverseNL, aligned with the needs of the field.

Requirements

What will you bring to the table?
You have a completed academic education and substantial experience in supporting research data management and data archiving. You are familiar with the landscape of academic research institutions in the Netherlands and have a relevant network. You are a natural networker, client-oriented, entrepreneurial, and well-organised. Your clients, partners, and colleagues enjoy working with you because of your empathy and your focus on finding solutions. You have an excellent command of both Dutch and English.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 jaar.

Terms of employment
Depending on education and experience the minimum salary is € 4.537,-- and the maximum salary is € 7.056,-- gross per month for a fulltime appointment (scale 11-12 cao Nederlandse Universiteiten/KNAW). This is exclusive of 8% vacation allowance, 8.3% year-end bonus, travel allowance, internet allowance, home working allowance and pension accrual with ABP.

The KNAW offers its staff an excellent package of secondary benefits. A package that meets the different needs of employees depending on their stage of life, lifestyle or career ambitions. For example, by working an extra two hours a week, it is possible to increase the number of days off from 29 to 41 days a year (with fulltime employment).
