We are seeking a Communications Manager who will collaborate closely with our team in the planning andcreation of engaging content aimed at generating interest in, and strengthening, the ecosystem of AIresearchers, public organizations, and industry in the Netherlands. The ideal candidate will bring experience in science communication, creative flair, and exceptionalorganizational and teamwork skills to the position. The Innovation Center for Artificial Intelligence (ICAI) brings together partners in academia, industry, andgovernment to develop AI knowledge and talent that aims to make significant contributions to sustainablegrowth and societal good in the Netherlands

What you will do
You will generate and disseminate content about the activities of ICAI, and maintain ICAI’s communicationschannels. Your tasks will include the following:
  • Design, schedule, and implement the strategic communication and events plan in collaboration with theCommunity Manager;
  • Advise the team on new opportunities for communicating ICAI’s activities and events;
  • Create content surrounding ICAI news, events, and activities;
  • Manage ICAI communication channels, including newsletter and social media accounts;
  • Maintain and further develop ICAI’s website, ensuring that it reflects the current status of all ICAIinitiatives;
  • Liaise with other communications personnel both inside and outside our community.

Your Profile
You like to take initiative and work independently. You also feel comfortable in an dynamic environment with asmall team. You know you to communicate well with external organisations and know how to get things done,without being to directive.
Your experience and profile:
  • HBO/university degree;
  • +3 years of experience;
  • Affiliation with the field of AI and/or Data Science;
  • Experience with social media and website content;
  • Experience in communications for a multi-stakeholder environment;
  • Pragmatic and hands-on, with good social and communication skills;
  • Can work independently and know where to prioritize;
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented.

This is what we offer
A temporary contract for 16 to 20 hours a week for the duration of 12 months. Upon positive evaluation, the contract will be extended. The salary, depending on relevant experience before the beginning of the employment contract, will be € 3,537 to € 4,860 (scale 9) gross per month, based on a fulltime contract (38 hours a week). Depending on work experience, a starting scale may apply. This is exclusive 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. The UFO profile Project leader 2 is applicable. For this position we can not sponsor a visa. The Collective Labour Agreement of Universities of the Netherlands is applicable.

The Faculty of Science has a student body of around 8,000, as well as 1,800 members of staff working in education, research or support services. Researchers and students at the Faculty of Science are fascinated by every aspect of how the world works, be it elementary particles, the birth of the universe or the functioning of the brain.

The National Innovation Center for Artificial Intelligence (ICAI) has the mission to keep the Netherlands at the forefront of knowledge and talent development in AI. Creating and nurturing a national AI knowledge and talent ecosystem is our central aim. In doing so, we as an organization want to deal sustainably with resources that arise from the activities and further activate the resources in the Netherlands.
