Information
The Project Development Officer is occupied with a breadth of activities related to the acquisition of research funding and proposal/project development. In this role you work closely together with Financial, Legal and HR colleagues, as well as with project officers and researchers from other departments as part of TU/e’s, Institutes, and the Research Support Network (https://www.tue.nl/en/research/research-support-network).

You will be embedded within the existent Project Development Office in the Chemical Engineering and Chemistry department.   • Proactively supporting researchers in the acquisition of research projects;
  • Matching funding opportunities to the expertise and research interests of researchers in the department by communicating the current and future developments in both the national and European funding landscape;
  • Networking, e.g. proactively participating to matchmaking events, to help build consortia, enriching the researchers’ network with internal or external collaborators;
  • Supporting proposal writing and applying persuasive writing to maximize proposal chances. Also keeping an eye on overall proposal quality and compliance;
  • Supporting the administrative side of project development and management, including navigating the grant rules, overseeing budgets drafting (together with TU/e’s finance advisors), handling the submission processes and supporting contract negotiations (together with TU/e’s legal office) when grants get awarded.

Requirements

  • An education in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (at least MSc. but preferably a PhD level) and prior experience with research.
  • Experienced or interested in grant writing.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both oral and written) and Dutch
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and work with people of different expertise.
  • A goal-oriented, proactive and hands-on attitude; comfortable with working under deadline pressure and an eye for detail.
  • Interested in leading and coordinating teams or consortia applying for funding opportunities.
  • Curiosity about developments in Chemical and Chemical Engineering and the national and international funding landscape.
