We are the Legal Affairs & Liaison Office team of the Environmental Sciences Group (ESG), part of Wageningen University & Research (WUR).

A young and energetic team with strong growth ambitions, a passion for law, and a pragmatic approach to solutions.

We carry out challenging work for inspiring stakeholders at both national and international levels. We take pride in our informal atmosphere and give everyone room to grow, both professionally and personally. We believe that an open and direct communication style brings out the best in everyone.
To strengthen our ambitions, we are looking for a Paralegal.

The position:
As a paralegal, you will support our organization and legal advisors both administratively and substantively in the creation of a wide variety of contracts and other legal documents. You will also contribute to various (legal) inquiries and requests. You will carry out your tasks partly independently and manage your own responsibilities. You serve as the connecting link between internal stakeholders and the legal advisors, and you navigate a complex organization with ease.

Your main responsibilities include:
  • Drafting and reviewing legal (standard/template) agreements and handling them, if necessary, in consultation with the legal team
  • Providing advice on general terms and conditions
  • Corresponding with various (internal) clients
  • Managing legal files, both substantively and administratively
  • Contributing to various organizational developments
  • Acting as a substitute for our administrative staff during absences

Requirements

  • A bachelor level degree or experience
  • A completed bachelor degree in Law or demonstrable affinity with Dutch law is an advantage
  • Relevant work experience within a complex (international) organization in the field of legal advice and contract management
  • You work meticulously and accurately
  • You can perform well under pressure and know how to prioritize
  • You enjoy working together towards pragmatic solutions
  • You are proactive, independent, and take responsibility
  • You communicate clearly, pleasantly, and with a strong service orientation
  • You have a good command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken
  • You are a natural connector and tactful in your approach

Conditions of employment

Wageningen University & Research offers excellent employment conditions. Highlights from our collective labor agreement (CAO) include:
  • The possibility to work partly from home and flexible working hours to support a healthy work-life balance
  • The opportunity to accrue extra compensation hours by working more hours per week
  • Sabbatical leave, study leave, and partially paid parental leave
  • Strong focus on vitality, including access to campus sports facilities at an attractive rate
  • A fixed year-end bonus of 8.3%
  • An excellent pension scheme through ABP

These excellent secondary benefits come with a competitive salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a market-based salary ranging from €3,316 to €4,734 for a full-time (36-hour) work week, according to scale 9 of the Wageningen Research CAO.

We are looking for a new colleague for a maximum of 28 hours per week (0.7 FTE). Initially, you will receive a one-year contract which, depending on organizational (economic) circumstances and performance, may be extended. We are happy to discuss any questions you may have about this.
Wageningen University & Research encourages internal career development and mobility through an internal recruitment policy. We offer plenty of opportunities for personal initiative in a learning environment and provide excellent training opportunities. You will enjoy a varied role in an international setting with a pleasant and open work culture.
