Job description

Interested in Immunology and Immunotherapy for cancer? Join our exciting translational research group! For our expanding translational research group we are looking for an ambitious Postdoc that is interested Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products and CAR-T cells.

As a Postdoc you will work together with researchers and (research)technicians to implement CAR-T cell manufacturing in our GMP facility to treat patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

You will coordinate the implementation of the project and be involved in writing and reviewing GMP documentation, risk assessments, manufacturing and QC documentation. You will be part of our expert ATMP and QC team and be responsible for preparing batch records, deviations and change control in close collaboration with the Qualified Persons from the Pharmacy department.

You will also actively be part of the production team involved in manufacturing of the CAR-T cells in our class B cleanroom environment, quality control testing and equipment and cleanroom monitoring and maintenance.

You will be required to work on-site.

Requirements

This position requires you to have a Masters degree in (Medical) Biology, Biomedical sciences, Molecular life sciences, or similar. A PhD degree immunology / immuno therapy OR proven experience in quality and/or manufacturing in a GMP setting. You are pro-active, accurate, critical and flexible. You are social and have strong communication skills and are well structured and organized.

In addition you possess the profile below:
  • Experience in cell culture, cellular immunology techniques, flow cytometry.
  • Experience and affinity with GMP documentation and/or manufacturing.
  • Experience and affinity with working an a cleanroom environment (preferably grade B).
  • Able to work independantly as well as together with people from multiple disciplines (e.g. (research)Technicians, Scientists, Pharmacists, Doctors).
  • A clear motivation to perform translational research.
  • Affinity with cellular therapy.
  • You can speak, write and read English (C1 or C2) and preferably Dutch (C1 or C2).

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 2 years, with prospect of extension.

  • A gross monthly salary between € 3.493 and € 5.504 (scale 10) for full-time employment (36 hours per week). You will also receive an 8% holiday allowance, an 8.3% end-of-year bonus, and, depending on the position, an allowance of 47% to 72% for working irregular hours.
  • From 1 July 2025 an increase in salary with 3%.
  • 176 vacation hours per year based on a 36-hour working week.

You will work in the Immunotherapy research group of the Laboratory of Hematology, Department of Laboratory Medicine, Radboudumc, Nijmegen, the Netherlands. We focus on the characterization and modulation of anti-tumor immune responses in cancer patients.

Our translational research program encompasses three intermingled themes: 1) development of novel strategies to boost antitumor immunity after allogeneic stem cell transplantation, 2) development of CAR-T cell therapy against hematological cancers, and 3) innovative CAR-NK cell-based immunotherapy against leukemia and ovarian cancer. Our research is embedded in the Radboud Research Institute. The studies indicated in this vacancy will be performed in close collaboration with clinicians of the Department of Hematology at the Radboudumc. We provide a stimulating work environment within a group of enthusiastic non-clinical and clinical researchers with a strong national and international research network and track record.

You will workplace will vary between the office, class C and B cleanrooms and the research laboratory.
