Job description

As a Research Analyst/Lab Technician at the Erasmus MC iPS Core Facility, you will be involved in generating iPSC lines from healthy and patient-derived cell material, to be used as model systems in research. In addition, you will participate in the characterization and quality control of the newly generated iPSC lines.

The Erasmus MC iPS Core Facility is part of the Core Facility Research Program and supports stem cell research for investigators both within and outside Erasmus MC.

Together with your fellow Research Analysts/Lab Technicians, you will culture primary cells from patient material and subsequently reprogram them into induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs) on behalf of researchers.

You will be involved in the characterization and quality control of the iPSC lines using various techniques, such as immunofluorescence, FACS, and RT-PCR.

You will work according to SOPs and study protocols, and be responsible for maintaining the biobank and processing experimental results.

Requirements

The analist we are looking for is able to follow protocols with precision, while remaining flexible when situations require adaptation. You are adaptable, proactive, and have a service-oriented mindset. You have strong skills in planning and data archiving. You can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • You have completed a Bachelor's-level laboratory education (HLO) and have 0 to 2 years of practical experience in a research lab or biotech company.
  • You have a strong affinity for cell culture.
  • You have good communication skills and are fluent in both Dutch and English.
  • You are available to work according to a rotating schedule.

Conditions of employment

  • You will receive a temporary position for 1 year.
  • The gross monthly salary amounts a maximum of € 4.214,- (scale 7M).
  • A salary increase of 3% from July 2025, according to the collective labor agreement (cao).
  • Excellent fringe benefits, such as a 13th month that is already paid out in November and an individual travel expense package.

  • Pension insurance with ABP. We take care of approximately 2/3 of the monthly contribution.
