The Chien labis looking for an enthusiastic and motivated postdoc to join our collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. If you have a “can-do” attitude, a goal-oriented mindset, and a passion for (scientific) challenges, you are the right person for us!
Our lab develops technologies that integrate advanced imaging, computational analysis, and single-cell & spatial omics sequencing methods to address key biological questions, particularly in cancer research. Our focus is on investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying rare and aggressive cancer cell subpopulations, as well as (plastic) cancer cell states that contribute to tumor progression, metastasis, and therapy resistance.
Instrument development is an integral part of this. The successful candidate will develop a next-generation, high-throughput screening microscope for the characterization and profiling of abnormal and rare aggressive cancer cells, building upon some of our previously developed technologies. The project involves designing and constructing a custom microscope and programming a user-friendly interface for cancer cell screening. The candidate will also work on the creation and refinement of advanced imaging methods to capture high-resolution spatiotemporal cellular dynamics in 3D biological samples and contribute to advancing our research in cancer diagnostics and therapeutics through the use of these technologies.
The successful candidate will also be part of
Oncode Institute, with which dr. Chien is affiliated.
