Job description

Ready to take the next step after your MSc and launch your career?

We offer a unique, two-year, accredited, full-time post-master's program leading to an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) degree. This is a paid position with no tuition fees, designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

An EngD program is on par with a PhD program. The main difference with a PhD is the focus: a PhD is aimed to establish you as an independent researcher and an EngD prepares you for a high-level position in industry.

We’re looking for ambitious and highly motivated graduates to join our 2025 intake starting October 2025.

Requirements

We are looking for highly motivated young professionals and recent graduates who possess the following:
  • A recent, relevant Master of Science (MSc) degree*
  • Experience in systems development and strong abstract and critical thinking skills
  • A deep interest in technology and an awareness of current technological trends and advancements
  • An academic and analytical mindset, with familiarity with state-of-the-art engineering design—especially in the context of your Master’s thesis
  • The ability to select and apply appropriate tools, methods, and techniques to solve practical engineering challenges
  • A proactive approach to staying current in your field of expertise
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A collaborative attitude, with persuasiveness and organizational awareness
  • The ability to thrive in interdisciplinary teams and project environments
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English

*Degree Requirements
MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mechatronics, Robotics, Systems & Control, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, Automotive Technology, or closely related fields.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 2 years.

  • Full-time employment for two years
  • Access to a personal development program specifically for EngD trainees
  • A gross monthly salary of €2,872 (full-time), in line with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU)
  • An 8.3% year-end bonus and 8% holiday allowance
  • Excellent technical infrastructure, moving expenses compensation, and savings schemes
  • Allowances for commuting, remote work, and internet costs
  • Support from our Staff Immigration Team, and eligibility for the 30% tax facility for international applicants (if applicable)
