Job description

Key tasks and responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and execute analyses of routinely collected health data (also known as Real World Data) to generate good quality Real World Evidence.
  • Write protocols, analysis plans, study reports, conference abstracts, and manuscripts related to the characterisation and analysis of Real World Data.
  • Review relevant literature on methods and best use of Real World Data, with a focus on the development and evaluation of medicines, vaccines, and medical devices.
  • Represent the Health Data Sciences group (and Department of Medical Informatics) at workshops, meetings, international collaborations, and conferences.
  • Travel within the Netherlands, Europe, and occasionally North America or Asia to participate in meetings and conferences.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:
  • A PhD or equivalent qualification in Epidemiology, Pharmacoepidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Data Sciences, or similar fields.
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and execution of studies on the effectiveness or safety of medicines, vaccines, or implants based on Real World Data.
  • Experience in the writing and registration/publication of study protocols, analysis plans, conference proceedings/abstracts, reports, and manuscripts.
  • Fluent in English language writing and oral communication.
  • Experience programming or coding analyses in R.
  • Knowledge of European health data / Real World Data governance and related regulations.

Additional (desirable) skills:
  • Knowledge of the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM).
  • Experience analyzing Real World Data mapped to the OMOP CDM.
  • Knowledge of advanced causal inference methods, including target trial emulation, new user cohort, self-controlled case series, propensity scores or similar methods and designs.
  • BA or equivalent degree in medicine, pharmacy, or allied health professions.
  • Fluent in Dutch language and/or other European languages.

Conditions of employment

  • You will receive a temporary position for 2 years.
  • The gross monthly salary amounts a minimum of € 4.818,- and a maximum of € 6.594,- (scale 11).
  • Excellent fringe benefits, such as a 13th month that is already paid out in November and a individual travel expense package.
  • Pension insurance with ABP. We take care of approximately 2/3 of the monthly contribution.
  • Special benefits, such as a incompany physiotherapist and bicycle repairer. And there is also a gym where you can work on your fitness after work.
