Job description

We are looking for a colleague that can coordinate the IISH’s Web presence. The administrator:
  • is the central person between the IISH and its website and search engine suppliers;
  • is the point of contact for project domain owners, such as diamantbewerkers.nl and spanjestrijders.nl;
  • upkeeps and improves on the search strategy and search engine optimization;
  • monitors websites, reports on and fixes bugs and creates web statistics reports. These activities are done with input from your colleagues at the various departments;
  • can migrate and archive content from old Drupal websites into the corporate website;
  • advises on the SEO, web content structure for iish.amsterdam and iish project websites, for example on improving templates or enhancing the accessibility of websites.

Requirements

For this role, we ask for the following skill set:
  • knowledge of developing Drupal-based websites (having worked with XML/PHP/JSON);
  • knowledge of user experience optimization (SEO, taxonomy, UX design);
  • to understand the workings of API’s and how they benefit the IISH’s web presence;
  • experience with project coordination;
  • verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • being empathic and have an open mind;
  • having affinity with the social sciences and humanities and digital representation of archives;
  • knowledge of Linked Data (RDF) is an asset.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 2 years.

Terms of employment
Depending on education and experience the minimum salary is 2.901 and the maximum salary is 3.707 gross per month for a full-time appointment (scale P cao Nederlandse Universiteiten/KNAW). This is exclusive of 8% vacation allowance, 8.3% year-end bonus, travel allowance, internet allowance, home working allowance and pension accrual with ABP.

For example, by working an extra two hours a week, it is possible to increase the number of days off from 29 to 41 days a year (with full-time employment).
