Do you want to contribute to a good quality of BSc and MSc education of Animal Sciences students that specialize in Adaptation Physiology? Do you like to supervise and coach students to discover and improve their research qualities and do you like to organize and take responsibility? Then you are the candidate we are looking for.
Your task will focus on further improving the learning processes of our BSc and MSc students. This includes re-organizing and chairing the thesis ring, evaluating MSc-internships, and supervising BSc- and MSc thesis students. It also includes working on bottlenecks we face in maintaining and improving the quality of specifically small-scale education with the increase in student numbers. You will work closely together with the education coordinator of the chair group.

• Academic training, preferably with an MSc in Animal Sciences, Biology or Veterinary Sciences;
• Proven experience in education and know-how on recent and/or new teaching methods;
• Working experience in animal sciences, preferably in the area of adaptation physiology;
• Good communication skills, both orally and written, in Dutch and English;
• An effective collaborator, taking responsibility;
• An enthusiastic and committed addition to our team.

A challenging 0.6 fte position, starting with a 1-year contract with, depending on your experience, a competitive salary from a minimum of € 2.709 to a maximum of € 4.274 for a full working week of 38 hours in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities (scale 10). In addition (based on a full-time position), we offer:

The chair group Adaptation Physiology of the Department of Animal Sciences aims to improve and facilitate adaptation by development of robust animals in supportive environments. Our objective is to increase our knowledge on animal physiology and behavior and translate this knowledge into innovative, societally acceptable housing and management conditions for farm and companion animals.
Our studies mainly focus on cattle, chickens and pigs and include the fields of energy metabolism, immunology, behavior and reproduction. Our chair group is responsible for several curricular courses in the BSc- and MSc- program of Animal Sciences. Additionally, we supervise an increasing number of MSc-students within the MSc specializations 'Adaptation, Health and Welfare' and 'Nutrition and Metabolism'.
