Job description

The department Psychology, Health and Technology (PHT) is involved in research and education with regard to the use of technologies to support health and wellbeing. We develop and implement theory-based interventions to influence behaviors, using persuasive technologies (web-based, mobile, gaming etc.). We work both from a psychology and an engineering perspective and cooperate with other scientific disciplines, based on the “high tech, human touch” profile of the University of Twente.

The Department of Psychology, Health, and Technology (PHT) at the University of Twente is currently seeking for a talented lecturer Psychology & Technology (F/M, 0,84 FTE).

The challenge

You will be teaching in all modules in the Bachelor of Psychology with a focus on psychological topics in the first and second year of the bachelor: psychology & technology, human centered design, research and professional skills. You will be working in Bachelor education as a tutor and facilitator of working groups. You will give lectures in various topics and supervise Bachelor theses and research projects. Requirements

You have a master’s degree with a focus on psychology in combination with technology. You see a challenge in combining psychological theories with innovative design principles in (mental) health care and/or using innovative technologies to study behavior. You are passionate about teaching and adopt a personal approach to students. You have good oral and written skills in English, as all teaching is conducted in English.

Conditions of employment

We offer you a contract for 2 years (for 32 hours pro week). The terms of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labor Agreement for Universities (CAO).

  • Starting salary between € 2.709,- to € 4.274,- gross per month based on your experience;
  • A holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%;

  • Minimum of 29 holidays in case of full-time employment;
