Job description

The Grant Office team within the Research Support Office of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences has a vacancy for a Grant Advisor, who will provide coordination and guidance for grant applications and grant-funded projects.

As Grant Advisor, you will provide guidance to researchers for a diverse palette of research projects, in both the proposal application and grant management phases. You will support proposals for both European and Dutch national funding programmes, representing various research areas within the Faculty (Education and Pedagogical Sciences, Psychology and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences). You will provide researchers with information about funding opportunities and programme terms and conditions, thing along with researchers, provide enthusiastic support, and play an active role in the organisation and creation of grant proposals. You will collaborate with researchers and other Research Support colleagues at both the Faculty and the University levels.

In particular, you will provide non-scientific support in the development of research proposals (including impact and management structure) for both individual and consortium-based research programmes. In funding rounds with multiple applicants (including the NWO Innovational Research Incentives Scheme) you will coordinate relevant support, communication and internal procedures and you will provide programme-related trainings, frequently in collaboration with other members of the University-wide Research Support Office network. In collaboration with the European Grant Advisor, you will provide support to the coordination of larger-scale funding rounds (including ERC and Societal Challenges).

In this role you will collaborate with other Departments in a support capacity (Department Manager, Finance, Human Resources) and you will actively maintain the grant tracking system. When projects are awarded, you will support principal investigators with grants management (grant agreement process, establishing collaborations, reporting). In all phases of research development, you will direct researchers to the appropriate internal expertise (ethics, privacy, impact/transfer, legal, data management, and finance) at both the Faculty and University levels. You will maintain national and international grants contacts and networks, and in doing so you will help to increase the visibility of Utrecht University, and in particular that of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences.
