You will be contributing both to the Bachelor's and Master's study programmes Landscape Architecture and Planning, by teaching courses on research and planning methods, assisting in studio-type teaching, and by supervising BSc/MSc theses. In addition, you will contribute to the research of the group.

We ask the following personal competences: high ambition, academic attitude, creativity, broad interdisciplinary interests, a communicative and collaborative personality, and a passion for supervising and education. In general, we expect the successful candidate to:

• preferably hold a PhD in Spatial Planning, (physical) Geography, or Landscape Architecture; and a demonstrated affinity with at least one of the other two fields;
• have experience in academic spatial planning or geography research, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications;
• have experience in teaching courses in a planning and design context;
• be an inspiring teacher with didactic skills and experience in international educational environments;
• have excellent communicative and writing skills;
• be willing to contribute to general tasks and activities of the chair group;
• have excellent command of English and preferably Dutch, or a willingness to learn.

We offer a stimulating and creative academic working environment with good relations with spatial planning practice in the Netherlands and abroad. Training and coaching are provided and interdisciplinary (international) cooperation is stimulated.
We offer a temporary contract for 1 year, for 38 hours per week (1 fte), with good performance an extension of 3 years. Gross salary: from € 2709,- to € 4274,- (scale 10), based on full-time employment and depending on expertise and experience.

We are
the Landscape Architecture and Spatial Planning Group at Wageningen University. Our research addresses present and future environmental challenges by means of planning and design. These challenges include climate mitigation and adaptation, sustainable water management, ecological networks, urbanisation, and the energy transition. Our specific competence is to analyse complex and dynamic landscape systems at various scale levels, and to propose inspiring and meaningful planning and design solutions. We consider it essential to base solutions on a thorough understanding of the nature of the landscape, so we have a strong emphasis on the analysis of landscape dynamics. Accordingly, we educate and train a growing numbers of Bachelor, Master and PhD students to become knowledgeable, reflective, and creative landscape architects and planners. We are embedded in the department of Environmental Sciences of Wageningen University, which provides fundamental research and academic education on our living environment. We are member of the Wageningen Institute for Environment and Climate Research (WIMEK).
