Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic lecturers in Technical Computer Science, Business Information Technology and Creative Technology, with a drive for guiding young students. You will be responsible for the design, innovation, and teaching of modules in our international Bachelor programs.

The topics you will be involved in will be chosen in consultation, based on your own expertise, but may range across the entire Bachelor curriculum of these programs. Your teaching activities include:

  • Developing and applying appropriate modes of education, leading a team of dedicated lecturers and professors
  • Lecturing, tutoring and mentoring students
  • Coordination and supervision of practical sessions and projects
  • Making and grading of tests and assignments, possibly using Remindo (our digital testing environment)
  • Developing and maintaining course pages in Canvas (our learning management system)

Requirements

You have a PhD degree or academic teaching qualification in Computer Science or a related field (Business Information Technology, Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence).

  • You are a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • You are fluent in English.
  • You have extensive knowledge of modern programming languages and/or information systems design approaches To facilitate the professional development and quality of teaching, you are required to obtain the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ) within two years from the start of your appointment. We expect that you will shape your professional development as a lecturer thereafter.

Conditions of employment

  • We offer structural position, starting with a temporary appointment with the prospect of a permanent position after a positive evaluation.
  • Our terms of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labor Agreement for Universities (CAO) and include a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3 %.
  • Depending on your relevant background and experience, the gross monthly salary on a full-time basis ranges from € 2.709,- € to € 4.978,- per month.
  • Further growth towards a more senior position with a maximum of € 5.656,- per month is possible if you possess ample experience in additional tasks like independent development of educational units.
  • A minimum of 29 leave days in case of fulltime employment based on a formal workweek of 38 hours. A fulltime employment in practice means 40 hours a week, therefore resulting in 96 extra leave hours on an annual basis.
