The Plant Ecology and Nature Conservation group is looking for

Lecturer in plant ecology and nature conservation (1 fte)

As lecturer you will teach plant ecology and nature conservation at both BSc and MSc level, with a focus on Dutch plant and animal species, habitats and ecosystems. Teaching duties are diverse, from coordinating and leading courses, to teaching course elements, organising and conducting (field)practicals, developing and taking exams and supervising BSc and MSc theses. Additionally you will supervise research by MSc and PhD students and maintain contacts with stakeholders in a Living Lab in Zuid Limburg. As a lecturer you like taking initiatives, in a collaborative environment. You are fluent in Dutch and English.

You have a PhD degree in ecology, conservation biology, nature conservation, biology or similar, with extensive knowledge, including field expertise, of Dutch habitats and ecosystems. You are a team player, experienced in working in collaborative groups, have excellent organizational and communication skills. You are comfortable with collaborating with stakeholder groups from a variety of backgrounds. You like teaching and contacts with students from different backgrounds. You are willing to learn new teaching methods and skills.

We offer challenging position of 1 fte with, depending on your experience, a competitive salary from a minimum of € 2.709 to a maximum of € 4.274 for a full working week of 38 hours in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities (scale 10). The position is initially for four years but offers possibilities for extension and further academic development based upon performance.
