The Center for European Studies (CES) / Maastricht Summer School (MSS), part of the Student Services Centre (SSC), is looking for a Student Affairs Officer / Scheduler.

CES / MSS provides comprehensive, English-language study abroad programmes for international students. Welcoming approximately 750 students a year, CES / MSS prides itself on providing the best possible European study abroad experiences inside and outside the classroom. Job description

We are seeking a motivated Student Affairs Officer / Scheduler committed to providing excellent planning for our students and staff.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Scheduling courses in Syllabus for all CES and MSS courses;
  • Processing student and course administration in SAP (registering students for courses,    creating new courses, processing grades, creating all necessary overviews and documents for professors and students, etc.);
  • Being the main contact person for CES & MSS professors’ administration (registering them in SAP, preparing contracts, processing administrative side of payments, etc.);
  • Organising field trips for classes (incl. planning, scheduling and budgeting):
  • Being the key-user (main contact person) for the following programmes: SAP-SLM and Syllabus+.

What are we looking for?

As a successful candidate, you possess the following skills and competences:

  • flexible, independent, accurate, immune to stress, but above all customer friendly;
  • good at planning and organising, maintaining a good overview of tasks, dividing them methodically, setting priorities and monitoring progress;
  • great collaborator, contributing to common goals of the organisation, hands-on mentality;
  • affinity for students and scheduling; experience with the Syllabus+ and SAP-SLM software programs is an asset;
  • focused on the realisation of qualitative and quantitative results and a continually striving for improvement;
  • excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken)
  • good experience of the complete Office-package.
  • Knowledge of UM, experience in International Higher Education and knowledge of American and Australian culture is preferred.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year with the possibility of extension and a permanent contract.

An attractive 0.8-1.0 fte job in an inspiring, service-oriented work environment, with the University Job Classification (UFO) profile of Student Affairs Officer, scale 8 of the CAO-NU and favourable secondary employment conditions. The terms of employment at Maastricht University are set out in the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities (CAO). Furthermore, local UM provisions also apply. Remuneration will be according to standard salary levels, depending on education and relevant work experience. Each year the standard salary is supplemented with a holiday allowance of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8,3%.

The appointment will be for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension and a permanent contract. The successful candidate will start as soon as possible.
