We are looking for an enthousiastic junior Marketing and Communications officer, who likes to strengthen our School of Business and Economics (SBE) Marketing and Communications (M&C) team in the upcoming year.

The M&C department develops and carries out M&C activities in keeping with the objectives formulated for undergraduate, graduate and executive education as well as research conducted under the auspices of the various departments and institutes and the Graduate School of Business and Economics (GSBE).

The Marketing & Communications team within the school consists of seven persons, of which two are student recruitment advisers and two event coordinators. There is a close cooperation with the shared Marketing & Communications department and other departments within the faculty.

Job description

You will support the recruitment and events team in their daily work tasks. For example, the execution of online campaigns for our new study programmes or the creation and evaluation of events. Also you can be asked to coordinate a team of ‘student influencers’. As a junior M&C officer you will have different tasks and you will work with people in different levels, from student to professor.

  • Work closely with Bachelor and Master Recruiters on planning and implementation of recruitment activities;
  • Coordination of programme/student recruitment-related content and online student groups;
  • Coordination of the content/video creation for Bachelor and Master as needed;
  • Suggest new ideas for improving student experience and engagement and lead management;
  • Maintaining and answering department mailboxes;
  • Help out with evaluation of student recruitment activities and initiatives using quantitative and qualitative methods;
  • Scheduling and conducting personal appointments with prospective students and/ or parents;
  • Management of student promo team members (selection, training/mentoring, administration, scheduling);
  • Planning and management of the execution of events on behalf of the faculty (e.g., registration, timing/programme, managing external suppliers, coordinate event personnel);
  • Coordination of (academic) staff involved in events (e.g. for presentations, info markets, case-writing);
  • Coordination and management of student assistants who support events.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in marketing, or related field of study (preferred);
  • Fluent in English and preferably in Dutch;
  • At least one year of experience in (international) marketing;
  • Analytical, conceptual, problem solving, networking, proofreading and writing skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player;
  • Flexible orientation, tolerance for change and willingness to work outside normal business hours;
  • Hard worker, outgoing personality, out-of-the-box thinker, creative brain, energetic, focused on results and relationships, a ‘can do’ mentality. 

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

The appointment (0,9 fte) will be for the period of one year.

The gross monthly salary mentioned is based on a fulltime appointment. The salary in this fulltime appointment will depend on education and relevant working experience, and is based on salary scale 7 of the CAO NU.
