The HR Advisor is an important point of contact for the Faculty Board and for management when it comes to personnel matters. The HR Advisor performs the following duties:
• advising management and staff members on HR matters on the basis of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU), University and faculty-based regulations
• delivering a contribution to the HR policy of the UG and the implementation of this; during this period, also in terms of automation/ AFAS and adjusted legislation WNRA (Public Servants Standardization of Legal Status Act) and Balanced Labour Market Act
• implementing, conducting and delivering a contribution to the development of HR instruments: recruitment and selection, career path development, job ranking, legal issues and conditions of employment
• supporting managers in their guidance of staff members, for example in terms of their functioning, occupational health, sick leave and reintegration and in conducting assessments, carrying out R&O interviews and handling labour disputes, among other aspects.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic and decisive professional, who:
• is able to translate HR policies and instruments into faculty contexts and cases on both operational and tactical level, and sometimes also on a strategic level
• constantly knows how to set the right priorities and is able to easily switch between all levels within the University, the HR department and the faculty
• has excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
• has a degree in HR (from a university or university of applied sciences) and at least 3 years of work experience as an HR advisor; knowledge and/or an affinity with academia, research and higher education is important
• has and wants to further develop the following skills and competences: analytical abilities, persuasive abilities, decisiveness, empathy, good social skills, excellent communication skills and advisory skills, organizational sensitivity and a strategic perspective
• is able to work independently and work pleasantly and encouragingly within a team.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 06 months.

We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:
• a maximum salary, of € 4,274 (salary scale 10) gross per month for a full-time position
• a 36-, 38- or 40-hour working week (based on a full-time position); working days are negotiable
• 8% holiday allowance and 8.3 % year-end bonus, based on the annual gross income
• excellent training & development facilities.

A letter of appointment/employment contract will first be offered until 1 July 2020, to replace a colleague who is currently on sick leave. If this colleague returns before 1 July 2020, you will be allocated another HR advisory capacity within the UG.

The new colleague must have an affinity with the academic world, enjoy working in an academic environment and have experience as an HR advisor working in a complex organization.

Your workplace is based at the Zernike campus, at the Faculty of Science and Engineering. You will be part of the HR FSE team, consisting of six HR Advisors, three HR Assistants and a secretary.
