Moduli spaces of sheaves on algebraic varieties have interesting applications to many fields ranging from 19th century enumerative geometry to quantum field theory (Yang-Mills theory). Several recent developments led to new directions in the field, such as K-theoretic invariants, real enumeration, and invariants of Calabi-Yau 4-folds. The PhD project explores various new problems through a combination of new and recent techniques. This PhD position in algebraic geometry is funded by NWO Vidi grant VI.Vidi.192.012 (Moduli of sheaves: new directions).
