Are you the experienced and progressive Head of HR who has a natural talent for connecting with others and can bring together people and the interests of the organisation? Are you a real people manager within your HR team, and a strategic sparring partner and adviser for the management council? The Human Resources Department of the Environmental Sciences Group (ESG) of Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is looking for a manager who can lead and organise the HR department, and who is looking for connections within ESG and the rest of the WUR organisation. From your position you will help to develop the organisation further, and you are able to direct the team, while also giving them freedom. You invest in constructive cooperative relationships, and you can motivate the organisation for new projects with which ESG and WUR lead the way.

As Head of HR you are ultimately responsible for the development and implementation of an integrated HR policy in the widest sense, in line with ESG's strategic organisation and corporate objectives, and within the Wageningen University & Research frameworks.

Additionally, as Head of HR you are part of the ESG leadership team as well as the HR management team of WUR. You also act as the adviser to the Management Council in the consultation of the Management Council with ESG's Decentralised Works Council. And you manage eleven enthusiastic and experienced employees of ESG's HR department, in which the atmosphere is characterized by trust, making a good collaboration possible.

Requirements

  • You are an HR professional with at least 10 years of broad HRM experience, of which 5 years in a managerial position;
  • You have an academic work and thought process, supplemented by focused HR and management courses;
  • You have extensive management experience in a complex organisation;
  • You have a good track record and a clear vision on HR policy, leadership, education and courses, and leadership development;
  • You also have verifiable extensive experience with and knowledge of directing change processes, development strategies, and reorganisations, and you have experience in shaping an HR policy together with other HR departments;
  • You are able to work together with professionals in a complex environment, to delve into processes, and to be a discussion partner for the different disciplines;
  • You also have a well-developed sense of governing relationships and potential opposite interests;
  • You also display effective communication and social skills;
  • You have a good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken;
  • You have an eye for social developments and actively work towards diversity and inclusiveness;
  • You have a unifying and inspiring style of leadership, enabling you to connect or bridge different interests, allowing people to work well together and showing their best work.

Conditions of employment

A challenging position with, depending on your experience, a competitive salary of between €4286 and €6441 for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the Wageningen Research CLA (scale 13).
