Job description

The postdoc position is part of a transatlantic research project on scaling social innovation. The aim of this project is to better understand how collaboration can enable spatial diffusion and context translation of innovative solutions to sustainability challenges. It aims to generate new theoretical insights into collaboration for scaling social innovation and offering practical recommendations for “best-fit” solutions for sustainability transitions. To do so, it will employ both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Research consortium partners from universities in Canada and Germany and from Oxfam will participate in this joint research initiative. The position is a research position and as such does not include teaching obligations.

As a postdoc fellow, you will contribute to this project by conducting field research in cooperation with our partner institutions and in collaboration with experienced researchers in the Innovation Management and Strategy Department. You will contribute to publishing the research results in leading academic journals and a practice-oriented report. You are also encouraged to further develop your own research agenda, which is ideally complementary to the project and can be done in collaboration with other colleagues. Finally, you may be involved in supporting the coordination between the partner institutions, for instance in helping to organize research meetings.
