Are you exceptionally interested in social science and specifically in the discipline of sociology? Is it your ambition to become an excellent teacher and researcher at a leading university? Do you have a strong profile in either i) migration sociology, ii) urban sociology, iii) welfare state sociology, iv) digital sociology, v) the sociology of climate/sustainability, or vi) work/labour sociology, or a combination of these specialisations? The Department of Sociology has an opening for two Assistant professors of Sociology, in these fields of specialisation only.
What are you going to do?

Fixed-term contract: two years.
The employment will initially be on a temporary basis for a period of two years, with conditions for a tenured appointment agreed upon at the time of hiring. The preferred starting date is 1 September 2020. Based on a full-time appointment (38 hours per week), the gross monthly salary will range from €3,637 (start scale 11) to €5,656 (end scale 12) depending on relevant work experience and qualifications. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (Cao) is applicable. We additionally offer an extensive package of secondary employee benefits, including a generous holiday and year-end bonus.
