Are you a great communicator that enjoys facilitating stakeholder connections and creates and manages our online environment easily? Can you develop an online environment with courses, expand our social media reach, pool the different stakeholders around ISRIC, and inspire our experts to adopt and contribute? Then we are looking for you!

Tasks:

• develop (with support from IT specialists) an online stakeholder environment;
• bring together the different stakeholder groups (such as co-developers, users, alumni, and participants in our capacity building programs) in this environment and manage the continuous interactions;
• coordinate ISRICs social media activities and the further development of our website.

Required

• experience with setting up and managing an online stakeholder community;
• experience with managing social media at institutional level (mainly LinkedIn and Twitter)
• experience with optimization of institutional websites: ensuring continuous relevant content, google search optimisation, gathering use statistics and defining appropriate actions to increase visibility and use of the website;
• pleasant colleague who enjoys working in our team;
• have and good command of English.

Desired

• ability to work with technical experts in order to jointly develop content for social media and website;
• passion for sustainable land use, soils and agriculture and passion for working in an international environment. You do not need to be a technical expert, but affinity and passion is required;
• working knowledge of either French, Spanish or Dutch.

A challenging temporary position for a period of 1 year with possibilities for extension. Depending on your experience, a competitive salary of between €2.709 and €4.274 gross per month, for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Wageningen Research CLA (scale 10). A part-time assignment of 4 days per week is negotiable. Applicants with non-Dutch citizenships may qualify for tax reduction over 3 years. ISRIC - World Soil Information (www.isric.org) has the mission to serve the international community with information about the world's soil resources to help addressing major global issues.
We are the International Council for Science (ICSU) accredited World Data Centre for Soils (WDC-Soils) since 1989 and maintains the World Soil Museum. In partnership, we operate in four priority areas: (i) standard setting for soil information; (ii) production and serving of spatial soil information products; (iii) education and capacity building; and (iv) development of derived products for specific user groups. ISRIC is an independent foundation located at the Wageningen Campus and has a strategic cooperation agreement with Wageningen University and Research (WUR).

ISRIC's community of users, co-developers and alumni is growing. Our goal is to actively engage our community in various aspects of our work, such as product development, acquisition, recruitment and communication. In addition, participants of ISRICs expanding capacity building program for national soil institutes in Africa need to become part of the community as well. They should be provided with on-line courses, peer-to-peer learning experiences and on-line assistance.
