Our international research group is investigating the function of a set of proteins involved in DNA methylation and histone modification pathways in mammals. We employ unbiased genome-wide methods (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, WGBS, ATAC-seq) to expose the transcriptomic and epigenomic dysregulation resulting from perturbation of these pathways using various model systems. In complementary mechanistic/biochemistry studies we are characterizing how our proteins of interest interact with other members of the epigenetic machinery and contribute to gene regulation.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and open-minded individual with a recent PhD degree in molecular biology, genetics or related studies. You have a strong research background in epigenetics and/or molecular biology and have a demonstrated publication record with at least one first author paper published or in press. You can demonstrate critical and independent thinking. Experience with stem cell culture and the analysis of next generation sequencing data is a distinct advantage. You are highly motivated, creative and results-driven. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
Fixed-term contract: min. 1 year.
You will be appointed for the duration of one year, possibly to be extended for another year.
For this position, a letter of motivation describing your interest in the research area, a curriculum vitae, and the contact details of at least two references are requested. The application procedure will include one or more interviews. In addition, you may be asked to give a presentation.
