  • Fully responsible for the subject-based management of the internal service HR, quality assurance, continuity of service, the required expertise and compliance with HR law and regulations and organizational frameworks;
  • Contributes to the mutual connection and cooperation between Dutch universities by participating in the HRNU network and sharing knowledge;
  • Key role in contributing to the realization of our strategy Shaping 2030.

Requirements

  • An academic background
  • Has experience and / or affinity with academic processes of research and education
  • Has experience with program development and management in large professional organizations
  • Broad experience in the field of Human Resources and experience with change processes and organizational development
  • Experience with carrying out HRM vision, translating strategy into policy and taking care of its implementation and monitoring
  • Experience with HRM (information) systems, HR analytics and shaping effective and efficient HRM processes
  • Managerial experience and affinity with a complex and extensive organization
  • Excellent language and writing skills in Dutch and English (C1 / C2)*

  • The interviews within the UT will take place in weeks 16 to 18.

*English level C1:

Conditions of employment

This full-time position comes with a salary in scale 15 of the Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities. Including holiday pay and end-of-year bonus, the maximum annual income for this position is €100,000. At the start, it concerns an annual contract with the intention of subsequently converting this into a contract for an indefinite period.

The Human Recourses (HR) department has a proactive and facilitating role within the University of Twente and supports the Executive Board, the faculties and the services. The service works on optimization of the entire work field and the further development and implementation of a broad contemporary (digital) HR set of tools. In the upcoming years, the focus will be on, among other things, the following themes: the further elaboration of the new UT Shaping 2030 strategy, recruitment, the new strategic orientation on recognition and appreciation in academic education and research, and a solid continuation of the existing HR practices. Performing these tasks is the responsibility of the three HR departments: Advice, Policy and Services.
The service HR consists of 53 employees. The director directly manages four department managers and two specialists. In addition, 28 HR employees are connected from the faculties. Hierarchically these HR employees fall under the portfolio manager business operations of the faculties, but functionally under the HR director. The director has the ability to connect, inspire and lead a department with professionals, both central and decentral HR, and thus provide professional support and advice in the HR field of all organizational units.
