In the coming years, Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) intends to strengthen its European and international higher education profile, a.o. by being an active partner in international education related consortia and networks, and by acquiring international funding for financing these activities. Therefore, the university establishes services for providing support to faculties, schools and departments that want to engage in international education projects, and in acquiring funds.

Job description

The Erasmus University intends to stimulate internationalization of its education by supporting cooperation with European and international partners as well as by acquiring international funding for internationalization of education.

The Projectmanager International Education & Acquisition will be the linchpin between the internal and external parties involved in project development, taking care of all non-curricula related issues.

Core tasks of the position will be:

  • To keep faculties and departments informed about opportunities for international cooperation in education, as well as for opportunities for grant acquisition;
  • To support faculties and departments for realizing these opportunities by a.o; co-writing project proposals, initiating international consortia, co-writing grant proposals, and if appropriate, make available specific external expertise, organizing meetings etc.

Requirements

  • You are a senior expert in the field of internationalization of higher education, with ample experience in working with relevant EU programmes such as Erasmus+ and other EU programmes that can be relevant for the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Working experience with other relevant programmes will be appreciated.
  • You have multy year experience in initiating and managing complex international education projects.
  • You feel at ease in an academic working environment and you are a well informed and eloquent counterpart for academics, board members and policy staff.
  • You are also well informed about present higher education policies in the Netherlands and in the EHEA.
  • You are a self-starter and able to draft ambitions for cooperation in education based on spoken or written input by stakeholders, anticipating on EUR’s strategic ambitions, and taking into account other obligations as well as the academic working environment.
  • You are a creative and innovative project manager, politically sensitive. You are able to translate complex ideas into concrete project ambitions and realize these also under pressure.
  • You are also able to manage and administrate projects from a financial point of view.
  • You master English at C1 level and if non-Dutch you communicate in Dutch at B2 level.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: We offer a full-time contract, initially for 1 year. In case of good performance, the contract may be extended.

The conditions of employment comply with the collective labor agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU). We offer a full-time contract, initially for 1 year. In case of good performance, the contract may be extended. Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 3.637 (scale 11 CAO NU) gross per month and up to a maximum of € 5.656 gross per month (scale 12 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours. Erasmus University Rotterdam offers attractive terms of employment, including a holiday allowance of 8%, a year-end payment of 8.3% and 41 holidays per year based on a full-time appointment. In addition, EUR takes part in the ABP pension scheme, and we also offer partially paid parental leave. Moreover, EUR staff members are allowed to make use of the EUR facilities, including the Erasmus Sports Centre and the University Library.
