The Department Human Resource Management (HRM) consists of approximately 90 colleagues. In addition to Professional Development, HRM also comprises the Policy, HR services & E-HRM, HR advice and AMVS departments.
About the TEACH team and job descriptionThe TEACH team consists of four teacher education specialists and facilitates and supports the professionalization of all teaching staff at the TU/e (from teaching assistant to professor). The TEACH team is part of the unit Professional Development and strives to strengthen the educational quality at the TU/e with their offer. We do this by means of designing, developing, and giving training or other professionalization activities, advice on teacher professionalization, as well as personal coaching. In doing so we remain in close contact with the nine different departments at the TU/e and their learning needs. The implementation, the supervision during, and the further development of the University Teaching Qualification (BKO in Dutch) program is a substantial part of our work. Besides that, we are also designing and developing a program that will further support teachers in their educational career path after the UTQ program (teaching excellence). In general, topics that we focus on are, designing and implementing student-centered & active learning, digital didactics & blended learning, and (online) assessment.
In light of the new educational vision the team contributes to the developments regarding Challenge-Based Learning and multidisciplinary education.
As a teacher education specialist, you have a great passion for learning and the development of university teachers. Your job consists of four components:
- You will provide input for the elaboration of policy components in the field of training and education for the faculty(s) and university, and establish and maintain contact with stakeholders within the faculties and services (such as educational directors, Teacher Support-central and -decentral, deans Bachelor College and Graduate School) with the aim of identifying new professionalization needs. You will also advice employees and supervisors about the TEACH training offer and the accompanying training issues.
- You will (re)design training programs, individual (UTQ) trainings, and other professionalization activities.
- You will implement and execute trainings and workshops, as well as coach/supervise teachers on their learning process during the UTQ program.
- You coordinate the organization of training(programs) and maintain contact with possible external training bureaus. In addition, you can attend to external trainers and warrant the quality of these trainings.
