The Amsterdam Law Hub has a vacancy for a Matchmaker.

The Amsterdam Law Hub has recently launched a new strategy and is ready to design and develop new programmes in partnership with the Amsterdam Law School. In this exciting new role the Matchmaker will stand at the forefront of developing and testing new services and business models for the Amsterdam Law Hub. In collaboration with the Director, the Matchmaker will be tasked to:

  • co-develop a Social Innovation programme for external partners;
  • co-develop a (start-up) marketlaunch programme for successful proof-of-concept projects that flow out of research- and educational programmes;
  • co-develop a community membership programme;
  • actively support in fundraising and sales of the developed programmes;
  • match academic projects with public partners, organisations and businesses;
  • support in the coordination of (online and offline) events;
  • support in the development and execution of of other projects.

Requirements

What do we require?

Our raison d’etre is co-creation for justice, and therefore the individual we seek has to be able to make innovative matches naturally. Hence the right candidate:

  • is an experienced project manager, entrepreneur or consultant with at least 7 years of professional experience in the justice sector;
  • has experience in setting up new businesses or programmes from scratch;
  • has applied human centred design and/or lean start-up methodologies in earlier work;
  • has raised funds or revenue for previous businesses, programmes or projects;
  • is well connected in the Dutch and global justice/legal sector;
  • makes connections easily and maintains relationships;
  • is pro-active and autonomous at completing tasks;
  • is driven by tangible results and impact in the justice sector;
  • understands the needs of Universities, professors, researchers and students;
  • loves team-work because it makes the dream work.

Conditions of employment

Our offer

We offer a temporary employment contract for 30,4 hours per week. The salary will be in accordance with the salary scale for Project Manager 4, salary scale 11, ranging from €3,746 to €5,127 gross per month full-time equivalent. Secondary benefits at Dutch universities are attractive and include 8% holiday pay and an 8,3% end-of-year Bonus.  The Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities is applicable.

You’ll be working at one of the most unique justice hubs in the world, where academia and business come together to develop a community of justice innovators and justice solutions. You’ll work together with the Director, a Communications Officer, a Coordinator, the leadership of the Amsterdam Law School and many inspiring academics and students.

The Amsterdam Law School prides itself on its international orientation and strong social commitment. This is reflected by both its research and educational activities. The Amsterdam Law School offers three Bachelor’s programmes, including the interdisciplinary English-language Bachelor Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (PPLE) in cooperation with two other Faculties, as well as a variety of Master's programmes, several of which are taught exclusively in English (i.e. International and European Law, European Private Law, International Criminal Law, and Law & Finance). The Amsterdam Law School prepares students for a wide variety of legal careers including law firms, government, business and industry, the national and international judiciary, public service, human rights advocacy, and academia.
