As Grant Advisor, you support and advise researchers with identifying relevant funding opportunities and support the team in writing research proposals. You have a minimum of 2 years' experience with the writing and support of large international or national grant proposals, preferably within the field of life sciences.
As a junior Grant Advisor, you have a role in supporting the development of complex (inter-) national multi-partner grant applications together with the principal investigator and the senior grant advisor. In collaboration with a Project Manager from the RSO, who will be responsible for the implementation aspects of the proposal, the budget and overall process planning, you will work on the grant preparation from the idea phase to the final submission. The Grant Advisor will deal with the content of the proposal and will be actively involved in co-writing parts of the proposal and turning it into a successful application.
You have knowledge of European funded research projects and you are well acquainted with the international and national funding landscape. You have a professional or academic training and preferably a PhD. You have hands-on experience in the development of (inter)national grant applications. You have at least 2 years of grant writing and funding advice experience which is a prerequisite. Knowledge of international funding schemes (e.g. H2020) is a must. Experience with national funding programmes like NWO and ZonMw is a pre.

The maximum salary for this position (21 - 29 hours) is € 4.615,00 gross per month based on full-time employment.

The Research Office is part of the Corporate Staff of the University Medical Center Utrecht. The Research Office focuses on strategic advice on development, implementation and evaluation of science policy within UMC Utrecht. The Research Support Office (RSO) is part of the Research Office and advising and supporting the development of grant applications (pre-award) and management of awarded projects (post-award) belong to the tasks of the RSO. The grant advisor will be placed within the Research Support Office. The RSO team comprises 9 colleagues. As member of our team of professionals you will be part of the pre-award team and will specifically support one or more of the UMCU's strategic themes.
