To strengthen our team and network we have a temporary position as
Coordinating Data Stewardship (32-36 hours)As Coordinating Data Steward you will implement and strengthen the network of Data Stewards within Wageningen University & Research (WUR). Ensuring that the Data Stewards have sufficient knowledge of FAIR Data Management, applicable within the scientific domain by formulating Data Steward Competency Profiles and organizing network meetings and training programs.
The support of FAIR data management at WUR is entrusted to the Wageningen Data Competence Center, and Data Management Support (DMS), (a collaboration of Library, IT and Legal. In addition, Data Stewards (0.1 FTE per 30 researchers) work within the research units, where they guide their fellow researchers the way to generic support and provide domain-specific help with the implementation of FAIR data management. It is the intention that the Data Stewards will eventually become the first helpline for researchers with all questions regarding data management, FAIR or Open Data, and data management infrastructure.
To achieve this, the coordinator will perform the following tasks:
- Supporting the chair groups of the university and the teams within Wageningen Research in the implementation of the Data Stewardship and the WUR data policy, and associated infrastructure;
- Making the existing services within the Data Management program of the WDCC and DMS more accessible for the Data Stewards and the researchers;
- Supporting the Data Stewards to draw up practical solutions for the groups on the basis of the existing or to be made Data Management Plans and services;
- Organizing Data Stewardship network meetings and training programs;
- In collaboration with the Data Stewards in the research programs, work on standardization of metadata and documentation for FAIR.
