Job description

We are looking for a communications officer within our enthusiastic team. You get the opportunity to become part of a high-profile international project and an excellent network of academia, industry and healthcare professionals. Will you join us?

The Bigpicture leadership team would not be complete without a communications officer to help us manage internal communication within the European consortium (pathologists, researchers, AI developers, patients, and industry parties) and external communication to the pathology - and AI community at large and to the general public. You work in close collaboration with the project manager at Radboudumc and at Lygature, the two coordinators at Radboudumc and the project leaders at Novartis and Janssen.

You draft media statements, answer media inquiries, compile publications, develop content for the website, set up and run social media platforms and you know how to analyze the impact of our publications on social media. You plan events (and press conferences if needed) and you guide us in public relations on sensitive issues like privacy assurance in sharing medical data and ethical considerations on artificial intelligence in medicine.

Requirements

You are an experienced communications officer (communicatieadviseur medior or senior level) with a keen sense of newsworthy items and relevant coverage channels to showcase the BIGPICTURE project and make it a high-profile point of attention. A pro-active, flexible person who enjoys working in a team.

Furthermore:
  • You have interests of the various consortium partners as well as those of the public when it comes to AI, big data and healthcare, and who knows when to align with other internal and external stakeholders.
  • A bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Impeccable copywriting and copy-editing abilities in English and Dutch.
  • Experience in search engine publishing, marketing, Google Analytics, and Google.
  • Professional experience in community building and international collaboration.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 3 years, with possible extension.

For this position it is possible to work partly from home.

Upon commencement of employment we require a certificate of conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag, VOG) and there will be, depending on the type of job, a screening based on the provided cv. Radboud university medical center's HR Department will apply for this certificate on your behalf.

The Computational Pathology Group is an integral part of the department and consists of some 25 researchers.
