The position
As an Integration Consultant you realize customized sustainable IT solutions in collaboration with researchers. No two projects are the same and so you are flexible, but you also keep an eye on the bigger picture and coordinate or improve processes that researchers follow when requesting something from the central IT organization. Because you are so engrained in the department, you can provide input for the department IT strategy and advise on which direction to pursue. You are part of a multidisciplinary team across all TU/e faculties, in which you share knowledge and expertise. This enables you to facilitate researchers at TU/e level in conducting their research. You facilitate in the needs of research, so that scientists can focus on their most innovative work. You will also have the opportunity to build up an extensive network and specialize in relevant research areas.

Department of Mathematics and Computer Science
With over 100 (assistant, associate and full) professors, almost 200 PhD and PDEng students, about 1100 Bachelor students and 600 Master students, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (M&CS) is one of the largest departments of the TU/e. By performing top -level fundamental and applied research, and maintaining strong ties with industry, M&CS aims to contribute to science and to innovation in and beyond the region. This is reflected in a rich portfolio of projects and grants that our professors attract (including ERC and national level personal grants, H2020, NWO, and industry co-funded projects). M&CS is offering high-quality educational programs including multiple Bachelor and Master programs, all fully taught in English, including a full Data Science curriculum and a new Data Science and AI MSc program.

The department's relationship with the high-tech industry in the Brainport region means that interested staff and students can contribute directly to the development of technological innovations with real - world relevance. The department has produced a number of successful spin-offs and participates in many national and international research consortia.

In this position, you are a vital part of enabling the innovation that is taking place at this department. You put your expertise to practice while hands-on contributing to projects, you propose and/or coordinate several processes for structural improvements in the domain of IT and you help shaping the direction of IT developments. Requirements

Who are you?
• You have a minimum education of a Master's degree or a PhD degree in a technical domain, with the ability to convincingly communicate with scientific staff.
• You are comfortable (orientating/familiarize yourself ) with preferably multiple of the following topics: Linux (Bash, basic system administration), Git, Python, SSH, Slurm, web technologies (HTML, CSS, JS). Being open to learning more is a big pre.
• You actively maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
• You identify the wishes and needs of researchers to proactively provide customized IT solutions.
• You are a pleasant discussion partner for both scientists and internal services, thereby mediating between organization and innovation.
• You initiate action to innovate existing products and services.
• You have affinity with one or more of the following techniques: High Performance Computing,research data management, data science, machine learning or other AI related topics.
