The Assistant Professor will be responsible, inter alia, for teaching undergraduate students and conducting research on topics related to law and society that are relevant to current global challenges (in our curriculum framed as Peace & Justice; Sustainability; Prosperity; and Diversity).
The Assistant Professor should show clear affinity with the ‘Global Challenges’ focus of our program. In addition to the academic staff based at LUC, leading scholars from the other faculties of Leiden University participate in the teaching of the program. LUC staff is able to take full advantage of being part of Leiden University while also contributing actively to the energetic and stimulating atmosphere of our college community in The Hague. The successful candidate will be part of an ambitious and dynamic team. The appointment is for one year with the possibility of a renewal and the intention to turn the position into a permanent one, depending on need, funding and performance. Salary range from € 3.746,- to € 5.826,- gross per month (scale 11 to 12 according to the terms of the Collective Labor Agreement of Dutch Universities).

Leiden University requires teaching staff to obtain the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ). If the successful applicant does not already possess this qualification or its equivalent, he/ she must be willing to obtain this Qualification within two years.
