Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to cover maternity leave in the Business Relations team at the School of Business and Economics (SBE). Business Relations is part of the Centre for Student Development & Business Relations (CSDBR).

The focus of Business Relations is on building and maintaining relations with external organisations to support education initiatives, research developments and lifelong learning. In this context, the Knowledge valorisation officer will initiate and organise support and advice with respect to collaboration with external organisations involved in research and (postgraduate) education (for example, for guest lectures, internships, research projects). You establish connections, stimulate cooperation and build relationships with the business sector and governmental and other institutions at the regional, national or global level. You work on the marketing of knowledge, skills and technology available at SBE in order to strengthen the School’s position and boost its image.

You inform and discuss opportunities for collaboration in research and education with prospective clients from industry and internal stakeholders, creating matches based on mutual interests. You serve as representative of the School and act as intermediary between the School and its external stakeholders. A crucial task pertains to developing and maintaining the School’s internal and external network at all levels (i.e. academic staff, university support staff as well as all levels within industry). Another important aspect of this liaison position is to be aware of developments and trends in the market, as well as within the university.

As Knowledge valorisation officer, you also keep track of the School’s external collaboration activities and the status of its relationships. Furthermore, you are involved in implementing a new CRM system and delivering content for the newsletter for external relations in close cooperation with the Alumni Office. SBE is currently also updating its collaboration strategy and we continue our Career and Development Days. Depending on the profile of the selected candidate and the work division amongst direct colleagues this also becomes part of your portfolio of tasks.
