Job description

Within the Laboratory of Proteomics at the department of Molecular Hematology we have an open position for a post-doc to set up targeted plasma proteomics approaches for absolute quantification of plasma proteins, with specific emphasis on immunoglobulins and coagulation factors.

Project
Mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics is a technology that holds great promise in discovering biomarkers in body fluids. In this project you will develop and implement PRM-based targeted proteomics approaches based on heavy-labelled peptides as well as on SILAC-based protein standards to identify and quantify molecular signatures that are associated with disease. Within the project we will focus on 1) profiling of immunoglobulins as an important aspect in dissecting acquired immunity in response to pathogen exposure, auto-immunity, allo-immunization during pregnancy or after blood transfusion as well as for therapeutic drug monitoring of patients that are receiving monoclonal antibody therapy and 2) profiling of coagulation factors as a promising approach to diagnose congenital bleeding disorders and to assess the risk for bleeding and thrombosis in individual patients.
