We are seeking a tenure-track assistant professor in the fields Empirical Industrial Organization, Strategy, Strategic Management, and/or Strategic Innovation.

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a PhD in one of the main fields;
• Have a clear research portfolio and (forthcoming) publications in reputable scholarly journals;
• Seek to successfully apply for research grants;
• Take teaching seriously with proven ability in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level;
• Obtain the University Teaching Qualification within our school;
• Be ambitious team players with good ability to work individually as well as in a team.

Mastery of the English language is required, and proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.

Knowledge of R is considered to be an advantage.

Fixed-term contract: Tenure Track.

We offer a tenure track position, with the possibility of a permanent contract. You will work in a challenging and professional environment. Upon meeting the tenure track criteria (available upon request), a permanent contract will be offered. Salary will be in accordance with Dutch academic salary scales, include a pension scheme, and range between €3,746 to €5,826 gross per month, dependent on experience and a record of accomplishment of the candidate. A temporary reduction in income tax (equal to 30% of taxable salary) may apply to non-Dutch candidates. The Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities (CAO) is applicable.

Department of Organization, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship

The Department of Organization, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship (OSE) is an integral Centre of Excellence of the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. The department has gained a strong reputation in both research and education. The variety of expertise available allows us to provide excellent education at the Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. level in the broad area of organization, strategy, and entrepreneurship. OSE currently houses over 50 faculty members, in addition to around 15 PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and affiliated faculty. OSE has strong ties with the Centre of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Maastricht University. Within the Strategy Group, research is interdisciplinary and spans the fields of Industrial Organization and Entrepreneurship, International Business and Strategic Management, Economics of Markets and Firms, Industrial Organization as well as the interrelationships between these fields. Digitization has become an increasingly important topic in both research and education. OSE is now building capacity to address digitization strategy and its consequences for the organization of the firm, network strategy, and the external organization of markets.

OSE is pursuing high quality research.
