Job description

  • As part of the exchange team in the central International Office you will administer the outgoing exchange scholarships within the Erasmus+ programme for study or internships abroad.
  • You will inform students on the application process for the scholarship based on nominations and make sure that the applications from students are correctly processed as well as managed in the various systems.
  • You will communicate with faculties and students on questions regarding outgoing exchange and the Erasmus+ scholarship. You will be in contact with the students before, during and after their exchange, through email and whatsapp.
  • You will administer other tasks related to the Erasmus+ scholarship, such as managing the contracts with partner universities in Osiris and updating the website information.
  • You will perform these tasks in close cooperation with the Erasmus+ coordinator and student assistant in the Exchange team.
  • You will participate in the organization of the annual Study Abroad Fair together with the other scholarships colleagues.
  • You will be also be working on Soft Landing activities to help our international students to settle in. At the start of the first semester of the academic year you will be assisting the team with tasks related to Soft Landing and student housing. You will also organise events later in the year, such as The Week of the International Student and the EURly Christmas dinner.
  • At the start of the second semester of the Academic Year you will be responsible for the coordination of the Soft Landing. You will be organising the airport welcome services, the One Stop Shop, the Official Welcome, and other activities for arriving international students.

Requirements

  • You have an excellent proficiency of the English language (both in writing and verbally, C1 CEFR) and you are proficient in spoken and written Dutch. Proficiency in another foreign language is an advantage.
  • You have experience in performing administrative tasks, and you perform these tasks in an accurate and efficient way.
  • You are customer focused and have excellent inter-cultural and communication skills.
  • You work in an independent, pro-active way.
  • You are creative, and you handle deadlines and pressure well.
  • You have an interest in international student mobility and you enjoy working in an international environment.  

Conditions of employment

An internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with good working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

Employment starts mid-August. The initial contract will be running for a term of six months.

In accordance with the conditions applied at Erasmus University Rotterdam as indicated in the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO NU) of the Dutch universities, the salary is dependent on the candidate’s experience and is set at a maximum of CAO NU scale 8 with a minimum of  € 2.656,- and a maximum of € 3.548,- gross per month, on a fulltime basis. In addition, EUR pays an 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year payment of 8.3% and offers excellent secondary benefits, and a very generous leave scheme. Furthermore, EUR is affiliated with ABP for the pension provision. Employees can also use EUR facilities, such as the Erasmus sports center and the University library.

Department

International Office

The central International Office, part of Education & Student Affairs (E&S), promotes, supports, and facilitates incoming and outgoing student mobility for all EUR faculties.

Our team handles admission and immigration procedures for incoming international students, provides information about housing opportunities, and facilitates their soft landing. The International Office also coordinates several scholarships and exchange programmes and provides information to outgoing Erasmus University students about matters related to living and studying abroad.
