The School of Business and Economics is looking for a Communications Officer to join the School of Business and Economics’ Marketing and Communications (M&C) team.
In this role, you would join an international team of 7 people. The team develops and carries out marketing and communications activities to support the School’s strategy and objectives. They are responsible for internal and external communication, strategic and research communication, student recruitment and events.
As a Communications Officer, you will support, develop, implement and evaluate communication plans and activities that contribute to the School’s strategic goals and targets. Your areas of focus will mainly be internal communication and research communication. As a Communications Officer, you will have different tasks and you will work with people at different levels of the organisation, including students, academics and management.
Your main tasks will include the following:
Fixed-term contract: one year, with the possibility of a permanent contract afterwards based on a mutual match.

We offer a 0.9 FTE appointment for the period of one year, with the possibility of a permanent contract afterwards based on a mutual match. Remuneration will be according to scale 9 of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, depending on education and relevant work experience. This implies a gross monthly salary between € 2.920,00 and € 4.012,00 per month (based on a full-time appointment). Each year the standard salary is supplemented with a holiday allowance of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
The university’s relocation policy stipulates that the selected candidate is supported to move to (the vicinity of) Maastricht. If the candidate is not already living in Maastricht (or its surroundings), they will be eligible for moving allowances. Other secondary conditions include a pension scheme, extensive leave entitlements, commuting allowance, parental and partner leave, and more.
