In order to strengthen our strategic focus on immunology and to further develop immunotherapeutic options for pediatric cancer patients, we are seeking one or two outstanding research group leaders in the field of tumor immunology. The group leader position can be at any level ranging from a starting group leader who is finishing a successful postdoctoral fellowship, to a senior, tenured group leader, with established lines of research. Applicants should have a focus and strong international track record in either fundamental, translational or clinical tumor immunology research. Successful applicants will be expected to pursue highly innovative research projects with a short- or long-term focus on improving treatment of pediatric cancer.

Requirements

We have particular interest in candidates focusing on CAR T-cell therapies, oncolytic viruses, identification of immune suppressive mechanisms, glycosylation and vaccination strategies. Candidates with a track record in setting up laboratories and/or implementing clinical protocols for (cellular) immune therapy are also encouraged to apply, as are candidates with a strong track record in fundamental research in (tumor) immunology. Scientific excellence is key, as is teamwork. Regardless of scientific background, we expect the group leader to engage strongly with the other members of our integrated research community, comprised of fundamental researchers and clinician scientists, to help develop and implement novel immunotherapeutic options.
