PROACT is a 5-year project that will fund 2 post-doctoral researchers and 4 PhD students. The project will concentrate on the design automation and physical security simulation of lightweight cryptographic circuits.
Key responsibilities
Your role in the PROACT project is the digital hardware design of lightweight cryptographic circuits. The goal is to apply design automation techniques in order to develop efficient and physically secure cryptographic ASICs. The other researchers in the PROACT project will work on the design of novel cryptographic algorithms, and the development of a physical security simulator.
During the project, you are expected to collaborate with the other researchers in the PROACT project, especially with the PhD candidate that will work on the project at Leiden University. You will participate in the consortium meetings and write research articles on the project results.

Our people are committed to expand fundamental knowledge by curiosity and to look beyond the borders of their own discipline; their aim is to benefit science, and to make a contribution to addressing the major societal challenges of the future. The research carried out at the Faculty of Science is very diverse, ranging from mathematics, information science, astronomy, physics, chemistry and bio-pharmaceutical sciences to biology and environmental sciences. The research activities are organised in eight institutes. These institutes offer eight bachelor’s and twelve master’s programmes. The faculty has grown strongly in recent years and now has more than 2.300 staff and almost 5,000 students. We are located at the heart of Leiden’s Bio Science Park, one of Europe’s biggest science parks, where university and business life come together.
