Job description

 Inno4YUFE Project Coordinator

The Inno4YUFE Project Coordinator is a core member of the YUFE Management Office, led by the YUFE Director. The YUFE Management Office is responsible for the day-to-day management of the YUFE Alliance, the preparation of its strategy and interaction with internal and external key stakeholders.

The Inno4YUFE Project Coordinator coordinates the implementation of the Inno4YUFE project in close cooperation with all involved colleagues, both within Maastricht University and at the other Inno4YUFE partners. The successful candidate will coordinate the execution of the activities described in the six Inno4YUFE Work Packages, monitoring progress and being in constant communication with the relevant Work Package leaders.

Specifically, the Inno4YUFE Project Coordinator:            

  • Acts as a central point of contact for the Inno4YUFE Work Package Leaders/Coordinators
  • Coordinates the monitoring and evaluation process of the implementation of the Inno4YUFE Work Packages
  • Regularly provides project documentation and reporting, collecting deliverables from the project partners and documentation on deliverables for external stakeholders
  • Prepares content for (key) Maastricht University’s and YUFE meetings (especially UM Executive Board and YUFE Strategy Board meetings)
  • Coordinates budget administration and reporting
  • In cooperation/consultation with the YUFE Director, manages the relationship and communication with the relevant EIT representatives and authority at the European Commission
  • Contributes to the implementation of one of the tasks within Work Package 4 of Inno4YUFE, namely the development and implementation of the “YUFE International Start-up Community and Acceleration Programme”. This task is carried out within the Maastricht University’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

The Inno4YUFE project Coordinator will also support the coordination of Maastricht University’s contribution in the YUFERING (YUFE Transforming Research and Innovation through Europe-wide Knowledge Transfer) project, as this is highly complementary to Inno4YUFE.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate is a true team player driven by a desire to contribute to collective success as a member of the (Inno4) YUFE community. He/she/they is/are a motivated self-starter equipped with excellent management and communication skills, able to effectively carry out the coordinating tasks assigned to them. The successful candidate has:

  • A relevant academic qualification (MA degree or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years or more of professional experience in an international project management/coordinator position
  • The ability to coordinate/facilitate intercultural and interdisciplinary teams including academic and professional services staff
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills in English and at least one other European language
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • The ability to develop into an inspiring role-model for her/his colleagues and students involved in the Inno4YUFE activities
  • Ability to work independently, but also equipped with the required flexibility to support a wide range of activities within the team he/she/they will be part of.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year with opportunity to extend.

  • 0.8 FTE
  • UFO function profile Project leader, salary scale 10 till 10.4 CAO-NU (€ 2.836 with a maximum of € 3.408)
  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • The post entails work in Maastricht, remotely and travel within Europe to attend/lead Inno4YUFE meetings.
  • A temporary appointment for 1 year with the possibility for an extension of up to 2 years, based on a good assessment
  • Starting date: as soon as possible.
