Job description

As part of ESA, the Education Support Centre (ESC), aims at optimising learning and teaching and at innovating education at our university. ESC seeks to inspire lecturers, to facilitate and support their teaching and the education environment and finally to enhance lecturers' professional teaching competences. The Education Support Centre employs over 70 staff members in 7 teams:

As part of ESC and in close cooperation with Wageningen Academy, the Open & Online Education team is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of online courses for professional learners, in close cooperation with WUR lecturers who are responsible for the content of those courses.

We are a self-organising and multidisciplinary team. To strengthen the team and to keep up with the growing ambition for professional education, we are looking for a project leader who will:
  • Manage the production of online courses from start to finish, focusing on planning and deadlines.
  • Work closely together with other members of the production team (instructional designers, multimedia experts, marketing officer, and student assistants) and the content coordinator, helping them use the right tools and stick to best practices and procedures.
  • Supervise the team of student-assistants who implement the course material in the LMS.
  • Assist in learner support.

Requirements

The ideal candidate:
  • Has affinity with online education
  • Is a good planner and organiser, can prioritize their own work, helps others to do so, and creates conditions to efficiently get work done.
  • Is solution-oriented and persistent in finding answers and fixing problems.
  • Is flexible and adapts easily to changing circumstances.
  • Is assertive and a good team player.
  • Is analytical and can fulfil any task that requires accuracy.
  • Has a hands-on mentality, likes to learn by doing, and is happy to do practical work to get to know the tools and processes.
  • Is quick at learning to use new tools and programmes.
  • Has an excellent proficiency in English (C1) and easily adjusts their communication style to different situations.
  • Has at least an HBO or academic bachelor's degree.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, this concerns a position of 0.8-1.0 fte 32-38 hours/week, starting with a one year contract with a possibility to extend. Salary depends on educational background, training and work experience and is based on scale 8-9 according to the Collective Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten), ranges from € 2700,- gross per month to € 4078 (in case of 1 fte).
