We are looking for an Officer Research Programming Networks within Corporate Strategy & Accounts (CSA). CSA is one of the staff departments of Wageningen University & Research (WUR) and is among other responsible for strategic international collaboration.

As Officer Research Programming Networks at WUR-CSA you contribute to coordination, management, and implementation of intergovernmental initiatives and public research programming networks as well as overall promotion of joint programming principles and achievements. Research and innovation partnerships have been introduced into the European R&I landscape to develop the European Research Area. Such partnerships aim to deliver on global challenges through concerted research and innovation efforts, working with Member States, the EU, the private sector, foundations and other stakeholders. Corporate Strategy & Accounts is involved in the governance, coordination and management of various networks in the life sciences domain. Joint programming cycle consists of (1) identification of challenges to be jointly tackled, (2) orientation and co-design, (3) programming through developing strategic research and innovation agenda and implementation plans, (4) research and innovation programme, and (5) evaluation which feeds into a next cycle. Funders, programme managers, scientists, end-users and other stakeholders are engaged throughout the process.

As an Officer Research Programming Networks you will team up with other colleagues active in research programming networks, in particular: the Joint Programming Initiative on agriculture, food security and climate FACCE JPI, the ERA-NET Cofund on monitoring and mitigation of greenhouse gases from agri- and silviculture ERA-GAS, Food Systems and Climate FOSC, the European Joint Programme on agricultural soil management EJP SOIL partnership, and in shaping new partnerships such as on agroecology and on sustainable food systems. The activities and responsibilities include:

• analyze drivers, trends, policies and research needs and organize stakeholder involvement in the joint programming processes;
• develop content of strategic plans, through ex ante impact assessment and the alignment of goals, building on explorative workshops on emerging topics, scoping for joint calls, surveys assessing interest and commitments, and interactions with other initiatives;
• conceptualize and elaborate multi-annual strategic research and innovation agendas;
• organize science-policy dialogue, construct co-creating processes and synthesize foresight reports and policy briefings;
• write substantive content for websites and information brochures and leaflets;
• connect transnational networks with institutional programmes;
• feed into international and national work to further raise the visibility of joint programming through a range of medias and channels, trackers and platforms;
• be a focal point for the relation with other institutes and countries involved.

The activities contribute ultimately to joint strategic research agenda's, implementation plans, and research excellence in transnational collaborations on challenges such as coping with climate change, transforming food systems, and productive agricultural soils. The officer will be part of a self-directed working team with five other professionals that reports to the Head of Department.

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague working with passion and endurance for international networks in the domains of healthy food and living environment. In addition, you need to fulfill the following requirements:

• PhD degree in life sciences or social sciences;
• Broad general knowledge of some scientific areas of the Wageningen UR research domains such as climate research, food systems, biotechnologies, agricultural economics, human geography, political sciences, agrotechnology, ecology and biodiversity;
• Capacity to analyze and structure information;
• As an Officer Research Programming Networks you have the ability to work collaborative to conceptualize problems and identify and implement solutions;
• Ability to work proactive, committed, and deliver in a structured way;
• Knowledge sharing, constructive teamwork, flexibility, good organization skills;
• Excellence in writing for non-specialist audiences, preferably science - policy interface, and proficiency in English (C1);
• Experience in working with Microsoft Office, website CMS, and social media.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €3391 and €5268 for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 11). A working week with a minimum of 0.8 FTE is possible. We start with a one year employment contract with a possibility to extend it to a maximum of three years.

Corporate Strategy & Accounts
At the department Corporate Strategy & Accounts (CSA) knowledge and expertise are combined to develop the WUR-strategy and translate this to policy for education and research, both national and international. Within the department, knowledge about strategy and policy is brought together with knowledge about international developments and partners. We actively follow the external changes on these domains (permanent analyses of the environment) and translate these advises for the executive board of WUR, to the other corporate departments and the Science Groups. We advise them about strategic changes, new policies, partner selection and the agenda for the next period. Besides that, CSA is responsible for managing the relations with important national and international collaboration partners.
