Job description

Your main tasks are

  • Preparing draft invoices and settlements with other Erasmus organisational units;
  • Maintaining the contract register;
  • Creating budget numbers and project numbers;
  • Setting up and maintaining authorisation tables;
  • Printing time sheets and ensuring that the actual hours written are checked against the standard hours;
  • Checking declarations for correctness and completeness;
  • Generating and checking financial statements from SAP;
  • Supporting the preparation of accountant audits;
  • Setting up and settling project files;
  • Answering financial questions and thinking along on the use of regulations and procedures;
  • Initiating and drafting memos for the purpose of correct and complete documentation;
  • Drafting and preparing progress reports and forecasts of 1st fund flow projects.

The financial administrative officer works closely with the project controller. The Financial administrative officer supports project leaders in their accountability for internally and externally funded projects and performs activities related to the progress and monitoring/control of these projects, such as preparing project budgets and project monitoring/controlling.

Requirements

You must have:

  • A completed MBO+ education in a financial-administrative direction;
  • Good relational verbal and written communication skills;
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language (minimum B2 according to CEFR) both verbally and in writing;
  • Experience with SAP is recommended;
  • Demonstrable experience/relevant knowledge in the field of accounting;
  • Microsoft Office skills.

You are result-oriented and proactive, process- and customer-oriented and you are used to working within deadlines. In addition, you are solution-oriented and have strong analytical skills. The competencies organisational sensitivity and accuracy are also important.

Experience with building reports is an advantage.

Conditions of employment

An internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with good working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

The position is for 0.8 FTE. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of €2.710 to a maximum of €3.619 gross per month on a fulltime basis, in accordance with scale 8 of the CAO-NU. In addition, we offer an 8% holiday allowance, an end-of-year payment of 8.3%, and a very generous paid leave scheme. The Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication

The Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication (ESHCC) is part of Erasmus University Rotterdam. The school has three departments: History,  Arts and Culture and Media & Communication. There are approximately 2500 students and over 220 employees.

ESHCC offers high quality education, based on scientific research, at the intersection of the Humanities and Social Sciences. We teach our ambitious, Dutch and international students in a stimulating learning environment.
