A skilled teacher is at the basis of every good academic performance. As a (junior) didactic trainer, you help the starting teachers of TU Delft to obtain their basic university teaching qualification.

Job description

Whether it is quantum mechanics, architecture or aerospace engineering; the participants in your training courses all belong to the (international) top of their field, and you will guide these smart professionals on their way to their basic University Teaching Qualification, which they need to be able to (continue to) teach at TU Delft. During this process, you are an inspirator, motivator and coach for the starting teachers, who offers a listening ear or gives a push in the right direction at the right times. Just like us, you stand for modern education. With creative methods and role plays, you involve the whole group and create a pleasant atmosphere in which everyone can develop further.

You have a particular interest in developing good quality, aligned assessment and wish to share this knowledge of best practices with university teachers.

You guide groups of usually around twelve participants. The training courses are blended in design and the topics differ. They may concern the development of education, teaching, individual supervision of students and the development and administration of tests. Your input is especially welcome in the field of testing. You alternate providing training by, among other things, giving one-on-one feedback and holding final interviews. It may also be the case that a faculty asks you for specific advice, for example when implementing a new assessment method.

You do all this within the Teaching and Learning Services training team, a young, committed and international team of about twelve colleagues, who focus on training teachers and helping to improve education. If you do not have that much experience, you will start with us as a junior. This means that in the beginning, you will join an experienced trainer and provide (parts) of training sessions under supervision. If that goes well, then you will be given your own groups.
